1st XI Abberley 114, Aldro 119 - Lost

Despite a terrible weather forecast and threatening clouds , we managed to fit in a curtailed 15 over game with Aldro who were up on tour staying at Shrewsbury. They whacked 119-4 off their 15 overs, some good batting in particular by their number 3 who made 63. However he was dropped three times, not easy chances but ones that have to be taken at this level. In reply we were up with the rate of 8 an over for a long time. Francis and Jack led the assault but both were out at just the wrong time. We fell 5 runs short of our target.

Nevertheless it was a good game and given the forecast, it was a bonus to play at all.
