Girls Cricket - Saturday 31st May

U13B Abberley 296, Packwood 240 - Won

The under 13B cricket team was made up of U12s who were aware they had had very little practice other than in the garden at home with older brothers. Packwood arrived after a long and hot coach journey with a couple of girls too ill to play. Philippa generously volunteered to play for Packwood and make up numbers.
Olivia won the toss and opted to field first. Abberley bowled impressively well and Olivia took a great catch in the field. With a little more practice they will be able to limit the number of wides and no balls and tighten up the fielding. Fortunately Packwood were slightly nervous on the crease and finished their innings with 240 runs.

Packwood bowled and fielded very well but were unable to hamper Abberley's batting. The girls were confident and each pair ran brilliantly between the wickets to score numerous singles. Most of the girls scored boundaries but the crowd were most impressed with the batting skills of Olivia and Immy who scored 28 and 30 runs respectively with eight fours and four sixes between them. Abberley finished their innings on 296 - winning by 56 runs! A great first match for the Under 12s!
