The frustrating spell of weather continued yesterday to force the cancellation of a full programme of cricket and rounders matches. All was not lost, however, as those athletes hoping to compete at the Mercia competition at the famous Iffley Road track were able to have an extra session and some good Relay training. The tennis players who are going to compete in the Repton competition were able to have an afternoon of practice. A group went off mountain biking in the Wyre forest, some golfers practiced their swing at the driving range, climbers tackled the new course on the climbing wall, a group went off sailing, a good nets session a was had in the sports hall, and the swimming pool was in constant use. Some of the younger ones also managed some outdoor nets and Quick cricket.
We are all looking forward to resuming our seasons but we won’t let rain stop play completely!
