Superior team work and possession football won the day. This was a spirited performance against a Winterfold team of decent individuals. We didn’t allow them to settle. Our passing and movement was crisp and imaginative. With the wind first half we had hoped to go in several goals to the good at half-time. There were chances and goal-mouth scrambles, the opposition goal was unbreached.

The second half was a lively affair. Eventually Tom broke clear to beat the keeper. We conceded a freak wind-assisted equalizer. For a couple of minutes we needed to settle. We did, and William re-established our lead. Winterfold pressed for the equalizer again, but we were resolute. Five minutes from time Tom again raced clear, rounded the keeper and confirmed the victory. Great stuff!
