X-Country - Lucton Competition Thursday 7th February

The Tercentenary Cup held at Lucton School was the first cross-country event held at the school. Eleven schools took part in the four races. Under 8 and Under 9 boys and girls made up the first two races and Under 10 and U11 boys and girls made up the third and fourth races. The course was around playing fields for the younger groups and an added section through the woods for the senior races.

Abberley were very successful. Harry H and Kitty D won the Under 11 boys and girls races. Fred B won the Under 9 boys’ race and Elizabeth W was second in the Under 9 girls’ race. The first three scores counted in each race towards the winners’ Shield which Abberley subsequently won.

A special mention must go to Georgie W and William L who came and ran from the pre-prep. They both performed well and will have benefited hugely form the experience.
