1st XI vBeaudesert 3-1

Henry, Tom and Will were on target for the 1st XI. This was a decent first performance which grew in confidence as the game wore on. A close first half saw the teams go in 0-0 at half-time. Slight positional adjustment at the start of the second half had immediate effect as the passing became more fluent. For ten minutes there was incessant pressure, rewarded with the deadlock being broken. Two more quickly followed. To the credit of the visitors, they never gave up and came back strongly to score a last minute consolation.

Colts A hit the wet ground running with an encouraging 2-1 victory at Beaudesert on Saturday. The weather forced the game on to the tight astro at the school but the rain abated to allow a pleasant game. The boys gave a wholehearted performance characterised by Harry in the middle of the park and his heading of the opposition goalkicks. Time and again he thwarted attacking balls in front of our defence allowing us to counter quickly. The goals came from Toby Y who like any good striker was in the right place to slot home an easy chance. Josh put us back in the lead just after half time with a low hard shot that slipped under the keeper. But this was a team performance and with a little more poise on the ball, this could be a good season
