1st XV Rugby Saturday 6th November

1st XV v King's Worcester (away) 0-24

Playing a senior school’s under 13 team is always tough as they tend to have just that bit too much power and so it proved on this occasion. We battled well for the first half with some excellent defence and a good kicking display from Max C-S. We broke their line a few times but their pace closed us down quickly. Losing Harry D towards the end of the first half weakened our pack and with Henry O already missing, as the game continued we came under increasing pressure. The King’s fly half kicked a lot of their possession away in the first half but their quick and powerful backs were given more ball as the game progressed and, although we tackled well, eventually the pressure told.

This was a good test and one which should serve us well with the coming fixtures.
