U13A vMalvern Prep 3-0


The Under 13As had the majority of the posession and attacking play in the match against Malvern Prep. However they were up against very determined defenders who worked hard for the full forty minutes and made Abberley have to keep working round them in order to have a shot at goal - many of which were saved by Malvern's Goal Keeper. Annie and Holly played superbly in defence and allowed nothing passed them. They were able to switch play quickly and push forward to support the rest of the team. In the first half the goal was scored by Olivia who had been bery busy as right-mid. Abberley made excellent use fo the wings but it was Jenny who scored the other two goals with confident strikes from the top of the circle. Thanks to Abberley's defence Goal Keeper Elsie had a very quiet game and did not touch the ball but contributed with shouts of encouragement to her team. The As are certainly gaining in confidence, they just need to make sure that all 6 of them keep working for the ball.

Captained by Bethany the B's took an early lead through a good poacher's goal by newcomer Kitty and added a second before half-time through Natasha with a powerful strike from the top of the D. The second half saw Abberley raise the tempo of the game with some confident passing, playing around the opposition in the midfield (Pippa, Kate, Kitty, and
Julia) ably supported by Rosalind in defence. Two goals from Georgie added the icing on the cake with two tap-ins from short range at the left hand post.
