Weekends

All In Weekends

These are weekends when all full boarding pupils are expected to stay in. These weekends usually follow either the start of term, half-term, an exeat weekend or before the end of term. In addition to the normal morning lessons and afternoon games/matches, there is a full programme organised for these weekends

Optional Weekends

These are weekends when pupils may go home if their parents wish, after games or matches on a Saturday afternoon, returning by Sunday evening bedtimes. On these weekends, there are usually 30-50 pupils remaining in school . Once again, there is a full programme organised for the weekend and Sundays are usually spent on an outing such as camping, visiting places of interest.

On each of the above weekends there is a team of five teaching members of staff, to organise events and supervise the children. Areas such as Design Technology Workshops, Art Room, IT Room and sports facilities are available, under the guidance of a member of staff. The wooded grounds are also areas where the children may play.

The Housemaster, organises these weekends and parents are requested to notify him of their intentions well in advance

Exeat Weekends

Every third weekend of term is usually an exeat weekend. All pupils go home from Friday lunchtime until Sunday evening. We find that this longer weekend break is very popular with both parents and children. For overseas pupils who are unable to go home or to a relative, arrangements are made for them to go home with another pupil.
