Hay Festival

The 100's and a few lucky scholars from Form 6 enjoyed a fantastic day at the Hay Literary Festival on Thursday (May 31st).

We went to brilliant talks on good writing from the very best authors in the business, including Michael Morpurgo, Geraldine McCaughrean, Anne Fine and Philip Reave. We had an anarchic hour of fun with comedian Harry Hill, including a starring role on stage for two of Harry biggest fans, Edward and Arthur (six foot banner included). We had picnics and ice creams and we relaxed in the Hay sunshine. 100K were lucky enough to spend an hour with the Royal Shakespeare Company's stage fight director, honing their skills for a major stage brawl. A fitting finale was provided by the highly talented Urban Strides, a street dancing and hip hopping team of young dancers from London. What a brilliant day. Thanks to Mrs D for some great tickets to the best talks and shows.
