International stage director Glen Walford made another flying visit to Abberley today mid-way through casting for next month's Ludlow Festival.
She enthralled us (her audience was mainly from the Top Year and Form 5) by revealing some of her plans for staging one of Shakespeare's earliest plays 'The Comedy of Errors'. "It's a play full to the brim with wonderful nonsense," she said, "with endless cases of mistaken identity and constant confusion on stage - great fun." One of her greatest challenges has been casting not just one but two sets of twins for the key roles. What she looks for, she revealed, is not actors who look alike, but actors "with a special chemistry between them, a real spark."
We can't wait for the performance. |
