Today, a large and appreciative audience listened attentively whilst pupils played a wide variety of music at our final Lunchtime Concerts this term.
This concert was, in effect, two concerts rolled into one as the previous Lunchtime Concert was ‘snowed off’!
Pianists today were Frankie (Pre Prep), Olivia and Connie and they played pieces by Sherman, Mozart and Waterman.
Andrew, Peregrine and Chloe made a super string trio and played ‘David of the White Rock’ on violin, viola and ‘cello.
We had no fewer than five vocal soloists and Jamie got us off to a grand start with ‘New York, New York’. Alison sang ‘Castle on a cloud’ whilst Kate sang ‘Another Op’nin’, Another show’. Immy sang ‘The Frog’ and Chloe (Pre Prep) sang a most charming performance of ‘Over the Rainbow’.
From the woodwind department came Robert (clarinet) and Oliver (sax). Robert played ‘Soldier, soldier’ and Oliver played ‘Greensleeves’.
To finish us off in true style and send us on our way with our feet tapping, the Junior Choir sang a fantastic performance of ‘The Jones Boys’ directed by Mrs Westwood.
This was a most enjoyable concert with really fine performances by all pupils. The next Lunchtime Concert is next term and all are welcome.
