The first optional of 2008 saw 3 different trips and 43 children entertained. About half ventured to Bristol. In the morning they had an explore of SS Great Britain at Bristol Docks followed by a visit to the supermarket to buy lunch. Then they saw Bristol play Cardiff in the Heineken Cup with the Welshmen prevailing 17-0.
The others went initially to Stourbridge to the Laserquest. Well done my mighty green team in winning the game but Chris took the honours in being the sharpest of the 28 shooters. The older children then went to the cinema and saw St.Trinian's before a long copious afternoon in Pizza Hut complete with Banoffee Pie and Profiteroles !
The younger ones went to Birmingham to Thinktank. There we visited the Legolab to programme robots which was great fun. We explored the different areas of the museum complete with a Spitfire and a Steam Engine and saw Santa v The Snowman in 3D at the IMAX cinema. The best bit though proved to be Kids City where the children played like little children should with water and in the pretend cafe.
