With half term earlier than normal, the third optional of term was upon us as November began. Saturday evening saw 45 children venturing to the Safari Park in Kidderminster to the fireworks. We started the evening on the rides with some hardy souls braving the Black Fly, The Twister and Venom. The fireworks burst into life around 8 o'clock and filled the sky for the next twenty minutes. Spectacular !
Sunday saw us coaching our way to Cadbury World in Birmingham. The smells and tastes were delicious with the warm liquid chocolate and filling of your choice a particular favourite with everyone. The adventure playground on a chilly day also kept the troops amused.
The afternoon saw us move on to the palatial surroundings of Symphony Hall for a Pirate party concert. We were not quite sure what to expect but it turned out to be a treat. We were guided through short pieces of music by a pirate clad compere .Works by Rossini, Strauss and Mendlessohn amongst others were marvelled at. All had a maritime theme as we were royally entertained. There was a good level of audience participation and the concert ended with the audience on their feet dancing to the Sailor's Hornpipe !
We did not make it back to school until 6-45 p.m. after another fun filled day.
