In The Palace, the second half of the Autumn Term started with the Annual Halloween Party !
At 5 o’clock some incredibly excited ghosts, ghouls, wizards, pumpkins and witches mysteriously materialised
out of the classrooms. The party started with a visit to the Skeleton Cupboard where a mad Scotsman was inviting all to take a Lucky Dip in a bucket of goo .....
Mrs Walker arrived to judge the Fancy Dress Competition. Amongst the winners were Matthew forThe Best Home Made Costume, Henrietta for The Prettiest Witch, George for the Best Ghostly Dancer, and Ben & Rory for The Most Frightening Costumes.
After a game of Musical Ghosts and Dead Zombies the Banquet began. All the parents generouslysupplementing school hot dogs with some wonderfully ghoulish but delicious food (THANK YOU).
Refreshed by pints of hot blood, we were ready for a session of Tearing Bats, which involves tearing the shapeof a bat from a piece of newspaper in Pitch Darkness.
The evening drew to a mysterious close with a story read by the most glamorous witch of all, Miss Clare Northwood.
Thank you to Mrs Q, Mrs B, Mr Robertson, Mrs Walker, the Matrons (loan of their iPod), Miss Northwood and Miss Brookes for all the help, and to the parents for costumes and food.
