The traditional pre season rugby camp had added importance this year as the 1st XV rugby squad traveled to Clifton College on the first Sunday to take part in their Rugby festival. We had a tough first game against The Downs Wraxel where after a promising start, their extra week back began to show. We were not completely overwhelmed and managed to score a good try ourselves. The second match was against St Hugh’s from Oxford who also had not started back at school yet. We over powered this team and gave our confidence a boost. Finally we tackled a large Bristol Grammar School side who have been back at school for a while and recorded a 60 point win in their first match yesterday. Abberley displayed a huge amount of passion and fought extremely well for a 7-0 victory.

James led the team superbly and Max performed with assurance at scrum half for his first ever game there. William was strong and the backs displayed some incisive running and brave tackling.
