Who studies Latin at Abberley?
Everybody has the opportunity to study Latin at Abberley. Nearly all go on to take Common Entrance or Scholarship exams in the subject.
Why is Latin taught?
The reasons are many. Here are a few.
• Learning Latin provides a priceless insight into the mechanics of language, such as parts of speech, syntax and clause analysis.

What is studied at Abberley?
Learning a language would be incomplete without considerable historical and cultural input. In addition to the rigours of the language, topics such as Greek Myths, Roman daily life, Vesuvius, the Punic Wars and Roman Britain are studied.
